Stephen and Mo Heard started The Projection Box in 1996 to provide small monographs on pre-cinema and early film subjects. The books fulfilled a need by introducing new research by historians, and the business thrived for many years.
The Projection Box is no longer in operation. Some of the titles are still available via the Magic Lantern Society website.
